Fishbourne Roman Palace

On Wednesday 19th June, Year 4 travelled to Fishbourne as part of their work on ‘Rotten Romans’. We visited Fishbourne Roman Palace where we took part in a number of exciting activities throughout the day. We found out how the palace had been discovered, looked at artefacts and studied examples of Roman mosaics. Also, each class took part in a workshop where we found out about the clothes they would have worn, with some of us having the opportunity to dress up. We had a chance to play games similar to those that Roman children and adults would have played, write our names and practise our mosaic skills.

We all had a wonderful time and would like to thank all of the adults who gave up their time to come with us and make the trip a success. It was also lovely to be told by the museum staff how impressed they were with the children’s enthusiasm and behaviour.
